We are pleased to be pressing ahead with our expansion plans for 2021, by submitting a proposal to Walsall Council to build a new facility on a vacant site in the area.

If approved, the facility will be sited on land between Wood Street, Lower Lichfield Street and Locksmith Close, offering internal self storage as well as external drive up units suited to incubation of small start-up businesses, as well as local residents.

Storage Giant MD, Simon Williams said: “2021 is set to be an exciting year for Storage Giant, with a number of new facilities in the pipeline for us. We expect that this one would create 26 full time jobs and one part time position with Storage Giant, as well as supporting local SMEs, which has always been key part of our operations and ethos.

“We have also very recently signed up to open new premises at a £30m mixed-use scheme in Nottingham, at Teal Park. The pandemic has, of course impacted business of all kinds, including ours, but we have continued to focus very steadily on our long-term plans and on the part we have to play in protecting and creating jobs within the economies and communities we serve.”

The Walsall site has been unoccupied for more than a decade after Yale Lock Works closed there in 2010.
