Small Business Success at Storage Giant

Storage Giant | 9 June 2022

Here at Storage Giant, we’re proud to incubate hundreds of businesses across our storage facilities throughout The Midlands (including Nottingham and Bristol), Wales and the M4 corridor. With around 5.58 million small to medium-sized businesses currently active in the UK, SMEs account for 99.9 per cent of the UK’s business population – so they are the bedrock of our economy.

More than 800,000 new businesses launched in 2021, showing that despite the economic impact of the pandemic entrepreneurs were driven to realise their business ideas.

One of the most satisfying things we do as a company is to support and incubate SMEs and we house everything from eBay businesses to charities, furniture firms, designers and more, from our flexi office suites.

One charity which makes use of Storage Giant’s facilities, and is having a huge impact on its local community and beyond, is men’s mental health charity Tough Enough To Care. Based on our Kingswinford location, Stuart Bratt has grown the charity from a simple Facebook group to overseeing support groups across the country.

Claire Goode is another enterprising individual who has made a Storage Giant unit in Cardiff her base for Lab Co Clothing, a clothing bank supporting more than 200 local families. We have also hosted bike repair businesses, microbrewers and many more.

Construction is the UK sector with the largest number of small businesses, with wholesale or retail responsible for 18 per cent of the UK’s workforce, the largest share across all industries. Our storage units are ideal for tradesmen and construction professionals since we have state-of-the-art alarm systems, 24hr digital CCTV, 24/7 unit access and safety features to ensure your tools and inventory are secure.
